About Myself
My adventure into leatherwork five years ago began as something that was only ever supposed to be a hobby. I was still working at the ambulance on overnights, and boredom set in, which led to searching for new hobbies. Leatherwork managed to pop up on YouTube. The following night, I began purchasing all of the basic tools and started my first shield which is pictured below. Eventually, in 2018, my fire department needed radio straps to universally fit various heights and weights of personnel. That started the original design of the straps I make now, which have undergone various changes for the better, especially the radio holders. I somehow ended up setting up shop in the firehouse after that before moving into my current house and moving the workshop into that. Having an actual workshop somewhere that wasn't just a workbench is what started the whole "this could be an actual business" idea. Last year the business exponentially grew, and continues to grow. I was always and will always be a single-man shop. Nobody else sorts the orders, makes the orders, or markets the business. Everything that goes on with the business is done by myself. So much so that I plan to leave my cushy, state job with the PA DOC and work on the ambulance full-time again in order to have more time to focus on the business. It may be a large pay cut, but I believe it will pay off and be one of the best decisions I can make currently. I'm currently 27 and have been running Fire & EMS for 9 years now. I've been in the PA DOC for the last 3 years. Pictured above is myself and soon-to-be wife who I can't thank enough for her support. She's been increasingly helping with the business and now helps with shipping, which even then is more help than I'd ever ask her for. Here's to a hopefully successful and growing business year after year. I couldn't thank everyone who has been supporting me and helping me grow with orders for the past couple of years.
